tasty postcards (2007 – 2008)

From early on, postcards have been used as a form of advertising, using an artistic stroke, and their message arrived effectively to the targeted elite audience of the time, and was also a sign of prestige for the advertiser. The slow demise of illustrated postcards was inevitable as other means of communication became more common. The golden age of postcards, between the mid-19th century and mid-20th century, is remembered at Museu do Pão through 120 Portuguese examples that revolve around gastronomy, representing what Portugal had to offer back then.
