An international exhibition that portrays an ancient European tradition, resulting from painstaking work carried out over several years by anthropologist Christine Armengaud. Figurative sculptures made of bread dough have pride of place at Museu do Pão. Ritual breads (for fertility, festivities, mystical or medicinal purposes) from throughout Europe made by old skilful hands are illustrated here. The weight of an ancient world, very much present, for a future memory.
